About H2OU

Welcome to h2ou, the area of Hach's website put together especially for teachers and students.

(NOTE: We're currently not actively building in this site, but there are still resources here you'll find valuable!)

Our biggest news is still the new Information Central area on our main website (www.hach.com). There are some very good (and very readable) technical resources for download in the Learning Library, with file sizes ranging from 100KB (fairly quick) to 3MB and up (longer).

In the Teacher's Lounge:

We've updated the Educators' Favorite Links page — the newest addition here is Environmental Concern Inc, a great resource for wetlands info and training. In fact, they'll show you how to build them in your community!

You'll also want to check out The Great North American Secchi Dip-In, a volunteer group collecting environmental data on lakes, rivers, and estuaries, and the Healthy Water, Healthy People site. This group is the result of a joint effort between Project WET and the Hach Scientific Foundation, and is a great resource for a wide range of info!

The GLOBE Program is an international collaborative effort between students and scientists to map the global environment. We've also researched GLOBE Program requirements and included a brief list of Hach products that meet the program's criteria.

Our Environmental Education Catalog is available as a download (1.2M). (Be sure to check out details about our "Just Add Water" educational series kits – a very economical way to get your class into water science..)

And as always, we'd like to draw your attention to two of our most important pages. Be sure to have your students review Safety Guidelines for Students before performing tests with Hach chemicals and test kits (or anybody's, for that matter). The educators' version is Safety Guidelines for Teachers. You'll also find a wealth of information on our How to Read an MSDS page, which links to an informative Glossary of MSDS Terms.
